BLANCO LAW – Terms of Reference: Conveyancer
Position Overview
BLANCO LAW, located in Parksville, British Columbia, is seeking a Conveyancer with a minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in British Columbia residential and commercial real estate transactions. This in-office position is ideal for a knowledgeable and organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and multicultural environment. The successful candidate will be supervised by an experienced lawyer and senior conveyancer and will be expected to contribute to both conveyancing tasks and reception duties.
We are a new and sole practitioner law firm, looking for someone to join our growing team and commit to the practice for the long run.
Key Responsibilities

Handle conveyancing files from open to close, including sales, purchases, mortgages, and refinances.

Familiar with E-Conveyance, Unity Accounting, LTSA, FCT, StrataPress, and LLC.

Liaise with clients, realtors, mortgage brokers, and lenders.

Assist with front-desk reception as needed, including greeting clients, answering phones, and managing e-mail, couriers and incoming mail.

Maintain confidentiality and uphold firm protocols for file management and client communication.
Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience in BC conveyancing (residential and/or commercial).

Proficiency in Unity Accounting, E-Conveyance, FCT platforms, Unity Lender Center, StrataPress, Atsource and LLC platforms.

Strong understanding of BC land title procedures and legal documentation.

Excellent time management, written, and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with supervising professionals.

High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Willingness to perform reception duties and assist with general office tasks.

Legally authorized to work in Canada and able to work in-office at our location.

Willingness to keep up to date in Real Estate, Procedural and Law Society Rules.
Assets
-
Formal education as a legal assistant, conveyancer or paralegal training.

Proficiency in languages in addition to English is considered an asset.

Familiarity with wills, probate, or corporate legal work is an asset.

Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Adobe Suite.
Compensation & Support
-
Hourly wage: $23 to $27, depending on experience, with a review after 6 months.

No formal benefits package at this time due to our early growth stage.

Possibility of permanent position after 6 6-month probationary period.
