FAQS
Careers at Blanco Law — Frequently Asked Questions
What roles do you typically hire for?
As a boutique law firm, we occasionally hire for roles such as associate lawyer (general practice with focus areas), legal assistant, or intake/admin support. We prioritize team members who can work independently, communicate clearly with clients, and bring a thoughtful, inclusive mindset to their work. Because our practice includes bilingual and multicultural service, language skills beyond English are always valued but not required. If your skill set matches our core areas and you’re passionate about people-first legal service, we’d love to connect.
What is the work environment like?
We’re a small, collegial team based in Parksville, BC. Our environment is respectful, low-ego, and community-focused. Everyone pitches in, and communication is key. We work hard, but not at the expense of our well-being which means we respect boundaries, offer flexibility when possible, and support healthy workloads. We also value curiosity and growth: if you’re eager to expand your legal knowledge or contribute in new ways, we’re here for it. At Blanco Law, we measure success not just by billables — but by clarity, client trust, and doing right by one another.
Do you offer remote or hybrid roles?
While our main office is in Parksville and many tasks require in-person work, we do offer hybrid flexibility for certain roles especially those involving document preparation, client communication, or file review. Our ability to accommodate remote work depends on the position and the candidate’s experience. We also use secure digital tools to support communication and casework when working off-site. If you’re interested in a flexible work arrangement, let us know your preferences and we’ll explore what’s possible.
How can I apply or express interest?
You can email your resume and a brief introduction to info@adrianablancolaw.ca. Tell us a bit about your experience, areas of interest, and why Blanco Law appeals to you. If we think there might be a future fit, we’ll keep your materials on file and reach out when opportunities arise. Even if we’re not actively hiring, we’re always happy to hear from values-aligned professionals who care deeply about client service and inclusive legal practice.
